Tellerium's founders find themselves in the place where it all began: a secluded oriental restaurant. But as they repeat the tradition and open their fortune cookies, they realize that there is more to what they bargained for.

From the silence among mummies in a Chilean desert to youth street riots in Istanbul, the occupied Cinecittà film studios in Rome and a demonstration in Chile. Like a flaneur who sees the world with the poetic gaze of an outsider, the film's nameless narrator travels around the world in search of happiness. Not as a sentimental feeling, but as an idea and practice which nonetheless turns out to be just as volatile as the images that his buzzing 16mm camera capture in beautiful and gritty scenes. Images that turn their back on him, but which through visions and encounters and with a silent fury initiate him (and us) to a fundamental, human search for meaning, cohesion, knowledge and freedom. It could easily have become a pretentious affair, but Johannes Gierlinger turns the abstract concepts upside down in a politically down-to-earth film, which above all is about resistance. This is another one of the cartoons I wrote and directed for The Sarah Silverman Program. Same team as the other Sarah cartoons, consisting of Andrew Delange on backgrounds, design, and color; Myke Chilian on character animation, design, and color, AND the absolutely adorable Sevan Najarian on Aftereffects animating, lip sync, and other odds and ends. We were a one stop shop. We had it down. We knew what we were doing. We had it all figured out. Huge shout out to Abed Gheith who voiced the evil Mister Cookiecrumble guy. He really did a great job. Good work pal! These were really fun to make. We were on the lot, able to run around the sets and be assholes while everyone else worked hard to produce and film Sarah’s show. I would go and grab whoever I could in between takes and record them in an office or whatever I had available to me. We really were a rag tag team of rough and tumble animators, just finding our way in the big bright city. I was so proud/ excite...

Al-Maria’s Mirror Cookie installation presents an intentionally disjointed monologue that references a self-help technique known as “mirror work.” It gradually develops into an impassioned improvisation delivered directly to the camera, as if the fourth wall she’s breaking is a reflection. As Bai Lings writes in one of her cookies, “We are our own mirror, reflecting the lights within.”

Details are being kept under lock and key but the project has been described as Memento meets Raiders of the Lost Ark.
